Hi, In August 2022 I received one tax code notice that informed me of a change in tax code as well as a change in the personal allowance (it included an entry with "Less Adjustment for tax you owe (earlier year)" and one for "Less Adjustment for estimated tax you owe (this year)". A month later (September 2022) I received a new tax code notice letter that doesn't have either of those two entries. Two questions: 1) What should I write in the "Amount of underpaid tax for earlier years included in your tax code for 2022-23 " entry? Should it be 0 because the most recent tax code notice doesn't have any entry for underpaid tax for earlier years? 2) I have not received any tax code notice for 2023/24 - should I enter '0' for the "Amount of estimated underpaid tax for 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023 " box? Many thanks.

Hi, please can someone help with these two questions? It is the only thing I need to confirm before submitting my tax return. Thank you kindly.

Hi Mihai Enache,
If no underpayment was collected in your 2022/23 tax code the entry will be nil.
This will also be the case if no estimated underpayment  from 2022/23 is being collected in your 2023/24 code.
Thank you.
