Payment on account advice...

When I submitted my 22-23 return in January, I had no tax to pay for that tax year, however it advised I would need to make two payments on account - Jan 24 and July 24 . I've just submitted my 23-24 return, my total due has already been paid by the January payment. Now I've submitted my return, will the system readjust and see I don't owe the July payment, or will I need to manually ask to have it deducted?

Yes the 2023/24 payments on account will automatically be adjusted when the 2023/24 Self Assessment tax return is processed to your record.
