Thank you very much, Admin, for your answer. Sometimes when I select the "Rate of tax credit relief allowed" option of 10%, I get this warning on your website: "WARNING: Make sure you have selected and entered the correct amount of Foreign Tax Credit Relief. Select the percentage rate from the list provided." It was only after several attempts over the course of a week that your system accepted this 10% option.

Is there a current UK/France tax treaty to prescribe the rate of withholding tax on French dividends received in to a UK resident's ISA? My dividends are currently subjected to French Non-Treaty rate 25%.

Hi,
Please have a look at article 11 of the current tax treaty with the UK and France:
UK/FRANCE DOUBLE TAXATION CONVENTION
Thank you.

Hi, I have Swiss Shares in SwissRe. Dividends are subject to 35% withholding tax, which I claim 20% back from the Swiss Tax authority. So I choose 15% in the online FTCR max drop-down I assume? Also, if my dividend was £1175 gross which I enter in the field named “ Amount of income arising or received before any tax taken off:” Do I also make an entry online in the “Foreign tax taken off or paid:” field? And if yes I assume for the 15% tax paid after the Swiss tax authorities refund?

I have French shares held within my ISA wrapper with Interactive Investor ( II ). Dividends suffer French withholding tax. I understand that II does not reclaim tax withheld under the Tax Treaty. Am I able to reclaim the tax or should II be responsible?

Hi ,

As the ISA is not taxable then you cannot claim any credit .

Thank you .
