I have been invited to work on a shoot overseas, whilst there I will also take the opportunity to visit our Asian supplier who works with us. There will be a few days out of the 12 days where I will not be working and able to enjoy the travel. How much is reasonable as a percentage to assign to legitimate business expenses and how much to personal use. Also, for the subsistence can I charge all meals on the days I'm working or just the daytime food expenses? thanks in advance!

Hi,
You will only be able to claim business use for the actual days you ae working.
As the  trip is not solely for business, the cost of the flight is not allowable BIM37600 - Wholly and exclusively: duality of, or non-trade, purpose: travel costs: contents.
You also cannot claim for food during the day as you would still need to buy this no matter where you are working.
You can claim for overnight subsistance for the days you are working - Expenses if you're self-employed
Thank you.
