Hi all, I changed my job on 28th March 2022 and started working with new employer from this date. So ideally during whole tax year 6 April 2022 - 5 April 2023 I was employed with only 1 employer. However my previous employer paid 800 pounds final settlements in April payroll which is on 29th April 22 and no tax was deducted from that amount. These payments are showing against my NI in self assessment portal for 22/23 tax year. 1) As I was employed with only 1 employer, do I still need to mention 2 employer and pay 300 pound tax on above amount? 2) Can I remove this employer and only declare 1 employer in tax return for which I have paid all the taxes?

Hi Vish14,

You would declare this as two employments to declare the income on the return.
If you only declared one employment with the full income, it would not match our records.

Thank you.
