I am on an approved medical training scheme with a national training number in radiology. As part of my training and to become a consultant I am obliged to pass the Royal College of Radiology exams including FRCR Part 2B There are a number of non-mandatory training courses to pass this mandatory exam - can I claim tax relief on these courses if I do not recieve a refund from my employer

Hi el613,
To review if the exam fee is less than £2500 you will need to complete a claim form P87 Claim tax relief for your job expenses.
If above £2500 you will need to register and complete a Self Assessment Register for Self Assessment if you are not self-employed.
Thank you.
