Hi I have following question about DTA(foreign income - bonus from HOng Kong). Q1. HK employment end day : 1 Sep 2022 UK new employment start day : 1 Oct 2022 HK bonus covered period : 1 June 2022 to 1 Sep 2022 HK bonus announce day: 10 Oct 2023 HK bonus tranfer to my HK bank A/C day : 10 Nov 2023 My HK employment ended on 1 Sep 2022 and I moved to UK on 30 Sep 2022. And start to work for my UK employer from 1 Oct 2022. I became UK tax resident from 1 Oct 2022. My former HK employer informed me on 10 Oct 2023 there is a bonus for my employment from 1 June 2022 to 1 Sep 2022. And it paid to my HK bank account on 10 Nov 2023. Under DTA with HK, the bonus is only tax in HK? Do I have to declare it on 2023/24 UK tax return as foreign income? Thanks.

Hi,

No, as this relates to work that was done in Hong Kong.

Thank you.
