I have following enquiries about fill in SA form for redundancy payment.
For example, My monthly salary is 3,000 per month. Laid off on end of Sep(total 6 months from April). Redundancy and compensation payment is 45,000.
Q1. For the SA102 Page E1 Box1, I should fill in 63,000 ((6 x 3,000) + 45,000 - it is from p45/p60)?
Q2. For the SA102 Page E1 Box2, I should fill in 5,343(it is from p45/p60)
Q3. For the SA101 Page A1 2 Box 5, fill in 15,000?
Q4.For the SA101 Page A1 2 Box 6, leave it blank? (It is because I filled SA102 Box2 already)
Q5.For the SA101 Page A1 2 Box 7, put 'X' in the box?
Q6.For the SA101 Page A1 2 Box 9, fill in 30,000?

I got a HMRC mail this week with a SA100 form(black and white copy) and asking me to file tax return for 2024/25, the form stated "This notice requires you, by law, to make a return of your taxable income and capital gains, and any documents requested, for the year from 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025".
Q1 Is it mean my self accessment account reactivated already?
If not, for reactivate my self assessment account on line.
Q2 For Page 1, Fill in all the information and for question" Have you been within Self Assessment before?"
Fill in “Yes" and fill in the UTR#?
Q3 For Page 2, "Do you have any other reason for completing a tax return?"
Fill in"Yes"?
Q4 For Page 2 "Please give details"
Fill in "Reactivate my self assessment account"?
Q5 For Page 2 "What date does this apply from?"
Fill in "6 April 2025"?
Q6 For Page 2 "Have you been getting taxable foreign dividends in excess of £300 a year or any amount of other taxable income?"
Is it asking " any taxable foreign dividends in excess of £300 a year" and "any taxable foreign amount of other taxable income?" ?
Q7 For Page 2, For my case, fill in"Yes"?
Q8 "When did you start getting this income?"
Fill in "6 April 2025"?

Mark, is it solved? As Clive said do not get a new one.UTR is for whole life. Get HMRC reactivate your self assessment account.

Dear Sirs,
I filed self assessment tax return for tax year 2021/2022, 2022/2024 and 2023/2024 by SA Form. And I have government gateway login and never file tax return online.
From government gateway message box, there is a message for me as following.
"Stopping Self Assessment
This message was sent to you on 01 October 2024
You don't have to send a tax return after the year ended 5 April 2024 unless:
-your financial circumstances change
-HM Revenue and Customs tell you to"
I have only £50 foreign interest income for tax year 2024/2025.
1. Can I still file tax return by paper form for tax year 2024/2025?
2. What does it mean "your financial circumstances change"? Could you pls give me some example?
3. What does it mean for "reactivate self assessment" and "reactivate UTR"? Is it same?

Thanks for the advise. And I have another question.
There is an online "Claim an Income Tax Refund Form" in HMRC website. For the section "I claim repayment of the amount overpaid to me", it asks "Is this a PAYE or Self Assessment claim?"
Under what situation I should select "PAYE" or "Self Assessment"?
For the "Self Assessment claim", "Payable Order" and "Direct to bank account" option is avaliable for it?
And for the "PAYE claim", only "Payable Order" option is avaliable for it?

The name showed in "Your Profile" is my full name or a alias name?
And where can I check my full name?

I would like to request for Income Tax Refund. It is because my employer overpaid my income tax(PAYE).
For the refund, as I know it can be a cheque or a bank tranfer to my bank account.
When HMRC process the refund. The payee name is based on the "Income Tax Refund form's name" or my government gateway profile name? It is because bank will reject either the cheque and bank transfer if name is not match.

Could you please give me an idea how to calculate tax on income tax with redundancy payment.
My monthly salary is 2500, I worked 5 months in this company for tax year 2024/25. It is using PAYE. And I got redundancy payment 40000.
For the fifth month, the tax on income is ?
(10000 + 2500 - 1047.5) *20% = 2290.5

I use tax paper form for tax return, will it replace my phone number record when HMRC key in form detail?
ie I change it in HMRC website on 7 Sep 2024.
And HMRC key in my paper form detail on 15 Sep 2024.
Or I should go into system amend it after HMRC key in?

For HMRC website, there is a function "Check when you can expect a reply from HMRC". I submitted paper form self assessment(2023/24 Tax Return) on 26 July 2024 by post. The estimate reply date is around 7 Nov 2024 from HMRC website, is it mean I will receive a penalty(£100) from HMRC for late filing because of paper form deadline is 31 Oct 2024?
