Hi! I noticed that the deadlines page (https://www.gov.uk/self-assessment-tax-returns/deadlines) contains the following note: "You must tell HMRC by 5 October if you need to complete a tax return and have not sent one before.".
I have not sent a tax return before. However, I have already received a letter from HMRC a few months ago, and it informed me that a new Unique Taxpayer Reference has been created for me. Am I correct in assuming that I did not need to do any other registration before October 5th or did I miss something here?
Is completing the actual tax return the only thing left for me to do or is there any other registration that I am not aware of?
