Filing my first Return for start of July 2021 - upto April 2023. I know it will then change.

I am late filing so I am trying to figure out how I complete my form. My first year is from July 2021 to June 2022. (I know that I have to bring that inline with new system for 23/24) Do I do a Return for July 2021 to April 2023? And then continue annually each April. I am a complete novice so please be patient and reply in simple terms, not complex titles etc. Thanks.
