Hi, My wife and I closed our Partnership on 27/02/23 and went back to our full time PAYE jobs. On our Partnership Tax Return 2023 we stated this in the appropriate section. However, we have just received a Partnership Tax Return for 2024 in the post. Could this be a mistake? Is there anyway we can check the cessation of the Partnership has been properly recorded by HMRC rather than waiting on a phone for 1hr? Thanks

Hi EngineerM,
Please refer to:
If you no longer need to send a tax return
As this also gives alternative ways to contact HMRC
Thank you.

I ended up phoning. I waited 52 minutes to speak to someone and then it took 30mins of going round the houses to eventually establish the Partnership Tax Return 2024 had been posted out to me by mistake due to an automated system and the partnership had been correctly closed in Feb 2023. Why this info can't just be included on my Government Gateway account is beyond me. A huge waste of time for both myself and HMRC!
