I am the executor for my father’s estate.
How do I calculate the interest earned on fixed rate bonds he held?
I can pro-rate the interest earned in the tax year up to his death and separately pro-rate the interest earned during the administration period from his death until the estate is distributed?
Or is there another commonly accepted way?

Hi Tony Meader,
This forum is for general queries and self-service. We cannot provide specific advice.
However, HMRC agrees, with your suggestion, of dividing the income pro-rata.
Thank you.
