Hi, My wife just got a call from HMRC to say we hit over the threshold for claiming child benefit in the prior tax year, however, my pay per my payslip was £94,500 with the threshold being £100,000. I did receive a bonus of £39,000 but this was put through my pension as a salary sacrifice. My understanding is this could be deducted from the calculation of Net Adjusted Income, am I wrong on this? Thanks C

Hi

You are correct - salary sacrifice would be deducted from your adjusted net income calculation.
You may have crossed the £100,000 threshold for some other reason - to allow us to check this, and advise you further, contact us by webchat or phone via
