Hi, I purchased an apartment which was exchanged at the end of 2022. The completion date will be Q2/2025. What is the amount counted for the Stamp duty? I searched some account firm website stated that "This new higher rate applies to all transactions entered into on or after 31 October 2024. If contracts have been exchanged before 31 October but the transaction has not completed by that date, then transitional rules may apply and the transaction may be charged at the previous rate provided that there has been no change to the contracts between exchange and completion." Is it correct? The Stamp Duty counted will base on the previous rate even the property completion in Q2/2025. Thanks.
