What is the difference between the NETP and non-UK company? Context: I'd like to register a limited company based in EU for VAT purposes and was looking for guidance. I thought my company should be classified simply as "non-UK company", but this post (https://community.hmrc.gov.uk/customerforums/vat/1fe4fbbf-8d33-ef11-a81d-002248c7929e) got me thinking maybe NETP is the right choice? I don't really understand the distinction.

Hi,
You can see guidance regarding NETP’s and VAT registration here:
Non-established taxable persons — basic information
A non-established taxable person (NETP), is any person who does not have a UK establishment. A non UK company is a company registered outside the UK, but they may have a UK establishment which would mean they would not be treated as an NETP, which is why there are two options.
Thank you.
