Two months ago, I bought an item from Japan on ebay. It came by Fedex. I returned the item because it did not match the description and got a full refund from the vendor. Still I had to pay the import duty (£105) to Fedex. Can I claim a refund since I returned the item ? Thanks

There are already loads of threads on the forum on this subject.which would have provided the answer you are looking for for. You can reclaim but you need both proof of the original import / amounts paid and proof you have reexported the item. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-apply-for-a-repayment-of-import-duty-and-vat-if-youve-overpaid-c285

Hi,
There are some reliefs available in such circumstance. You can claim for a repayment if you have overpaid import duty and VAT. You can see guidance here:
How to claim a repayment of import duty and VAT if you've overpaid
Thank you.
