Hello, I am writing to seek immediate assistance regarding an issue with our VAT registration. We applied for a UK VAT number for our Limited company, but the number was incorrectly issued under the company director's name, as if for a sole trader rather than for the Limited company. The VAT General Helpline indicated that they could not assist with this matter. Despite reaching out to the VAT Registration Team via email three times over the past two months, I have received no response. Could you please direct me to the appropriate HMRC team that can resolve this issue? Additionally, any specific contact details for this team would be greatly appreciated. Hi.
The main VAT helpline is 0300 200 3700 and once security questions have been passed they should be able to check the details we have registered for a
business and advise how to correct if anything is wrong.
The number ending 3701 is for online issues such as problems logging into an online account.
