RE: Contacting HM Revenue & Customs from abroad, class 3NICs shortfall rates
Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your reply. I called regarding the confirmation of payment again 6 weeks ago. On 28/07/2024, I made a payment of £95.10 to cover the gap for 2014/15. The payment was sent to the HMRC NIC Receipts, and my National Insurance number served as the reference from my bank account at HSBC. The receiving was confirmed by the phone call and I was asked to wait. But I still do not have a correction of my online record. I made another same transfer for gaps 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2019/20, a total of £4121 on 2/2/2025. I tried to call again but after a half of hour I gave up to be connected. I wonder how to ask to correct my national insurance record. Please suggest. Thank you very much. I will appreciate any advice. -
Contacting HM Revenue & Customs from abroad, class 3NICs shortfall rates
I am currently living abroad and have been taking steps to pay my National Insurance gaps. I received a letter dated 17/06/2024, wIith gaps in my Class 3 NICs at the shortfall rates from 2014/15 onwards. On 28/07/2024, I made a payment of £95.10 to cover the gap for 2014/15. The payment was sent to the HMRC NIC Receipts, and my National Insurance number served as the reference from my bank account at HSBC. I have not see any correction onlne so I sent a letter to request the correction of my account, which, according the website of HMRC, was received on 31/12/2024. However, as of today, I still do not see the payment reflected in my account. I wish to pay the gaps for the following years: 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2019/20, a total of £xxxx. To ensure I did my payment correctly, I attempted to call the number 0044 191 203 7010. Unfortunately, I was informed that I would need to wait approximately 20 minutes, but I am calling from abroad so it costs a lot of money which I cannot waste. I am unsure of the next steps to ensure my online account is updated and to make the additional payments correctly as soon as possible. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter. -

Reading the insurance contribution record
Dear Sir or Madam I read at my record. I am not sure if it is wrong or I do not understand. Could you explain? "You have: 12 years of full contributions 9 years to contribute before 5 April 2032 10 years when you did not contribute enough" I alwayes wonder about it. I paid fully only 9 years as I could read as detailed years. -
Living in Auroville/credit?
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to address the gaps in my national insurance contributions during my time living in Auroville, India. Auroville is an intentional community with residents from around 60 different countries and holds a unique status under the Ministry of Education of the Government of India. As a volunteer in Auroville, I do not receive any income. I had submitted a form for voluntary contributions. However, I received a letter requesting information about my income. I am not employed, nor do I hold the status of a development worker sent by any charity organization. Could you please advise on how I should proceed given my circumstances? Could I came any credit? I will appreciate any reply. -
