RE: Split tax year, foreign income from employment and self employment
Hi
As you need the residence section, you cannot file online using HMRC software and will need to buy 3rd party - Self Assessment commercial software suppliers.
This will then allow you to declare the income in the UK part of the year only. You cannot claim relief for the relocation expenses.

RE: Employee shares investment, company administration and tax refund
Hi
You would need to provide evidence of the actual investment for confirmation that it qualifies for loss relief. You can supply this after you submit the return and it can then be amended if applicable.
You will use the details from your P45 for the employment page and also declare the refund already received. You dont need to include the redundancy payment if below £30k.

RE: Pension Lump Sum
Hi Sandra

RE: Defined Benefit Pension Contributions
Hi
You can claim relief on the employee contributions if the are not deducted under the net pay scheme. Net pay - The employer takes the contribution from pay before tax so the customer gets full tax relief whether at the basic, higher or additional rate. No further relief is due.
Not under net pay- The employer takes the contribution after tax so the customer gets basic rate tax relief only. Higher rate customers can claim money back.
Thank you
