RE: selling on ebay
Hi Chuck Gaish
As you are selling the products through your account, you are the beneifical recipient of the sales income. If your sales/turnover exceed £1000.00 in a tax year, you will need to register for self assessment as self employed and submit a tax return declaring the self employed turnover and expenses as well as the rest of your world-wide income and capital gains.

RE: Trading Allowance hobby business - second government gateway ID?
Hi
As long as you are selling your 'old stuff' and not trading as a business, to make a profit, then there is nothing you need to do.
If you are trading as a business and your turnover exceeds £1000.00, you will need to register for self assessment, as self employed, using your goverment gateway user ID and password.
Your existing government gateway user ID and password allows you to access HMRC onlne services (HMRC online services: sign in or set up an account)
or things like your personal or business tax account, Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, PAYE for employers and VAT.

RE: Paying balance through tax code
Hi
As long as your 2022/23 Self Assessment was submitted by 30 December and processed by 31 December and the balance due is less than £3000, and you have a PAYE source with high enough income to collect the balance, we will update your record to collect in the code.
If this has not yet been updated you will need to contact HMRC to review.
