I have requested a repayment from HMRC and was told it would take about two weeks. It's now been more than two months without any payment or information as to why I have not been paid. Does anyone know what is happening?

I am just about to submit my self-assessment for the 23-24 tax year. I spent a good amount of money on training last year, which aided my job role. How do I add this amount to my application before submitting it? There doesn't seem to be any provision made for that, even though I had read that I could get tax relief or some sort of reimbursement.
