2023-24 'balancing credit' amount not showing in full in my repayment options
Dear HMRC, forum, My final tax calculation shows an expected 'balancing credit' amount which is made of an "Income Tax overpaid" amount and an "Adjustments to tax due" amount (box 15). I submitted this return over a month ago but in my repayment options I am only seeing the amount for Income Tax overpaid not the full balancing credit. Note that this was an amended return- I initially submitted my return a few months ago without the box 15 claim. So I wonder if the repayment calculator did not see the amended balancing credit or if there is something else I need to do? I've added below the summary of the problem with mock numbers for illustration in case that helps: # Initial return (5 month ago): Income Tax overpaid: 500 Balancing credit: 500 -> Repayment amount available to request: 500 # Amended return (1 month ago): Income Tax overpaid: 500 Adjustments to tax due" amount (box 15): 1500 Balancing credit: 2000 -> Repayment amount available to request: 500 (still the old amount) -
RE: Tax refund on EIS Losses against 2023/22 income in 2023/24 self assessment (box 43 & 44)
Thank you John, this worked. I have resubmitted my return with the suggested change and my tax calculation now shows the expected amounts. Noted about the search feature. Thank you, Julien -
Tax refund on EIS Losses against 2023/22 income in 2023/24 self assessment (box 43 & 44)
Dear HMRC help, In my 2023/24 self assessment I made a EIS loss claim against my 2022/23 income (box 43 & 44). However the final calculation does not account for this claim and I do not have an option to claim a refund for overpaid 2022/23 income tax. Could you please help? Thank you Julien P.S. there are thousands of threads on this forum but there are no search feature so it is difficult to check if this question has been asked before
