However, HR wants to conduct some due diligence on his part as he mentioned Living in India and work for the UK company can impact employment law in addition to tax implications. So could you please advise in this regard that would living in India and work for UK company impact me in terms of employment law and what would I need to do in this regard? Hi there, Could you please help me with the below questions? For a British citizen what are the legalities in staying in India for 2-3 years and work for UK based employer? Where and how would British citizen need to pay the tax when living in INDIA and work remotely for UK based employer? I believe UK has treaty signed with INDIA regarding this obligation which I believe allows UK citizen to pay tax in INDIA or UK or both. Could you please advise me on above and tell me where to start and who is the right person/organization to contact for this matter please? Thank you.
