Before I was a UK tax resident I had 100000 USD in a Hong Kong bank account, and an exchanged it to GBP back to USD and had a gain, do i need to pay tax on this?

I have an authorized agent for my tax assignment, but can I have inhibit the ability for my agent to change my personal details and the ability to refund tax? Thanks all.
