Tax Nominee and benefit support
Hi, My father lived in the Netherlands and is due a tax refund. However holland will no longer cash cheques and the form has an option to name some a nominee to receive the money. I wanted to know, as my husband and I receive disability benefits and tax credits, if the money was to be cashed into my bank account (I would be sending all the money back to my father) would it affect my benefits in anyway or if it got questioned at any point would I be able to prove I was a nominee? -
Double taxation or Self Assessment
I live in the netherlands but am a UK citizen. I don't believe I am considered a UK resident for tax purposes. I have recently received a UK private pension fund as a one-off payment and UK tax has been taken off with an emergency tax code 1257L. Am I right in thinking I need to complete the Netherlands DT individual form to reclaim the tax and will then pay the tax in the Netherlands? I want to check that I don't need to send in a UK Self Assessment tax return? I do not have any other UK Income, except my State pension. Could I also check what the process is from HMRC once you receive the DT form - is the refund processed after the tax year ends? So 2025? Some clarification would be great. Thanks
