RE: NI credit when being paid at LEL
Could you confirm whether the earnings will contribute to state pension benefit. I.e. will show as a year of contributions? -
NI credit when being paid at LEL
For the 23-24 tax year I was paid through PAYE as a director of my company at the LEL ( no NI contributions due). According to the Gov website I should receive NI credit (i.e. credit to my pension years) as if I had paid contributions. My NI record is showing not fully paid up. When I contacted the NI helpline they said since I did not pay any NI contributions I get not credit. However to quote the government website "Lower Earnings Limit (LEL): Employees do not pay National Insurance but get the benefits of paying". Can you advise how I correct this?
