I have a savings account that recently accrued more than £1000, but less than £10000, in interest. I am not self-employed and earn approximately £24000 through a salary. My savings account is with a bank that has informed me they report all interest paid for each tax year to HMRC. Do I still have to do a self assessment?

I have a savings account that has recently generated £2500 in interest. Because of this, do I have to a Self Assessment? I am also employed, and have a salary of approximately £24600 per annum.
