RE: Making a Voluntary NI Class 2 payment from USA
Gary, I went ahead and sent a Wire Transfer from my US Bank account to the Account details listed in the "Make a online or telephone bank transfer" - paying from an overseas bank account" The transfer was in GBP so I could ensure the correct amount was being paid. Unfortunately - this payment now goes into somewhat of a black hole until I see the change to my NIC record online. Judging from the feedback from users on this forum this could take several months to show up! For sending a cheque see the details listed above by the Admin. -
Making a Voluntary NI Class 2 payment from USA
I am looking for advice on how to make a payment of Class 2 contributions from the USA. I have received details of the missing years and payment amounts from HMRC. The only option for payment method appears to send a cheque to HMRC. As I live in the US - do I need to send a personal cheque in GBP or can I send a USD equivalent from my US Bank account..? Do I need to send a cashier's check in GBP..? Note - I do not have a UK bank account. There does not appear to be an online option to pay from the USA. Trying to confirm best way to make a payment. I have been trying to get through to the listed HMRC contact number +44 191 203 7010 and I ALWAYS get a busy tone with my calls. Is this number still active..???
