  • RE: National Contribution

I paid voluntary class 2 national Insurance contributions through my self assessment in August last year and I am still waiting for it to be transferred to my national Insurance record. I have now contacted HMRC and the National Insurance helpline three times since then which has cost me over £20 in phone calls and each time I get a different answer. The National Insurance guys tell me HMRC haven't sent it and the HMRC tell me the account has been satisfied whatever that means. The last time I called I get a feeling I was being fobbed off as I was told the money will automatically be transferred over on 7th April and still nothing! I honestly don't know what to do next as I've paid my money which shows in my tax account, I've contacted HMRC and National Insurance and neither seem to be able to sort this out which just seems ridiculous! My wife has also had exactly the same problem by the way, the money is sitting there in our tax accounts and hasn't been transferred over to our National Insurance records.
