  • Certificate of residence in the UK

I have lived and worked in the UK since January 2020. I do not work or receive any income from Portugal. The tax authorities in Portugal have requested a Certificate of Residence for verification and change of address purposes. I understand that when there is no foreign income, HMRC does not provide a Certificate of Residence but instead provides a letter of confirmation stating that I am a tax resident of the UK. I have received this letter and submitted it to the tax authorities in Portugal; however, they refuse to accept it. Please can you provide me with advice on how to proceed from here? Thank you in advance. Kind regards
