  • RE: Pension Lump Sum and Claiming Tax Refunds for Non-Residents

Thanks for your reply HMRC Admin 25 Response - you have confirmed a NT code will be issued for future payments. Can you please also confirm the full repayment of the UK tax amount already deducted will be returned to me in order for it to be assessed under my Australian tax position? As per DT Australia Notes (Part C2 / Page 2) 'if UK income tax has been deducted from pension or annuity payments, this tax can be repaid to you in full'. • RE: Pension Lump Sum and Claiming Tax Refunds for Non-Residents

Hi, I am a tax resident of Australia for the past 20 years plus and I started to claim my ex-employer pension and I received a lump sum back payment for £52,000 with £22,000.00 tax deducted. I have submitted the Form DT Individual Form (with supporting Australian Tax Residence) to claim the full repayment of this tax amount to myself in order for it to be assessed under my Australian tax position. My understanding is that any UK Income Tax deducted from a pension or annuity payment, can be repaid to me in full and also a NT tax code will apply to any future pension payments from this pension provider. Can you please confirm this and also confirm the average processing time for a UK tax refund to be made once you receive the Form DT Individual Form. Thank you
