RE: State Pension and Self Assessment
Hi ekr The entitlement for tax purposes is weekly whatever the payment frequency. You could ask for the pension to be paid weekly to bring it in line with entitlement. You are deferring a payment for up to three weeks if you are paid monthly. If you look at the PAYE Employment Manual https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/paye-manual and PAYE76030 - PAYE operation: pensioners: DWP uprating service of state pensions you will see the following There will be no increase in benefit during the first week in April and as a result, the Uprating Service will always calculate the Current Year+1 (i.e. Next Tax Year) coding deduction based on 1 week at the old rate and 51 weeks at the new rate. This only applies if your pension started after April 2010. -
RE: State Pension and Self Assessment
I have the same problem the SA form suggesting I put 52 X the increased rate when the first week was at the previous rate. My PAYE tax code was at the correct value which rules out the DWP feed being at fault. As this could result in SA taxpayers over declaring ther income this should be fixed. HMRC Admin 25 please can you raise this internally? I will write a complaint letter. -
Simple Assessment
Can I override a simple assessment by asking for self assessment?
