RE: Dividend Reinvestment Plans and Income Tax
Hi,
If the company automatically reinvests it, then you do not declare it. If you are given the choice, then it is you who is reinvesting and you still need to declare any dividends.

Hi,
The company does not need to register here and you would then declare all information on a tax return. You can see guidance here:

RE: Self assessment completion - sold rental property which I lived in prior
Hi,
You do not show the Private Residence Relief figure anywhere, but take it away from the final gains in the year figure. You then need to state that you are making an election and select the appropriate one from the drop down box.
The annual allowance is given automatically in the calulation and should not be entered or claimed in your figures.

RE: Can NRL claim international travel costs as a deduction please?
Hi,
You can see the following guidance which covers travelling expense deductions:
PIM2220 - Deductions: main types of expense: travelling expenses
This states that the deductions for travelling expenses depend mainly on the wholly and exclusively rule. You can see information here:
PIM2010 - Deductions: general rules: applying the wholly & exclusively rule
Costs of travelling between your home to the let property will only be allowable if the purpose of making the journey is exclusively a business one. Travelling costs will not be deductible if the purpose in making the journey is partly private.

RE: Backdated reporting of property income
Hi,
The following guidance advises ‘You need to pay tax on your rental income if you rent out a property in the UK.
You may also need to pay tax if you make a gain when you sell property or land in the UK.
If you live abroad for 6 months or more per year, you’re classed as a ‘non-resident landlord’ by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) - even if you’re a UK resident for tax purposes.’
Tax on your UK income if you live abroad
For previous years tax returns which are no longer available to complete online, you can download and complete paper forms from the National Archives, which can be found here:
