  • RE: Fraud pretended to be my employer

Hello - I am writing as I have a similar issue. I have been working for one employer for more than 4 years but I recently noticed that apparently I have been also working for 2 more companies - both are fake I think. CONSTRUCTION PLUMBER CO LIMITED (fake income £1,200) and in the last tax year (which I only noticed now) BELHAM LIMITED (fake income £9,900 - tax paid) - It looks like I have been taxed on money I have never earned. I have seen one more post about this issue here. I will try to call the HMRC next week but is there anyone in a similar situation and can advise how to rectify it? How is it possible to add me as an emplyee without my consent? Is this a possible money laundering case? I only log in to check my self emplyed account - almost never PAYE - but now I have discovered that I have been working and earning money for BELHAM LIMITED which is incorrect. I thought someone could take my credentials and add those through my account but it is impossible as every time I am loggin in, I need to insert a code send via text message - so I would definitely knew if there is a suspicious activity on my HMRC account. I guess I am writing here for other people to be aware of the situation but if anyone has therir case resolved - it would be good to know as I am wondering now if it spossible to get that unfairly taken tax back? Thank you
