What further information do you require to answer what I thought was a simple question. Please tell me. -
RE: Moving from Child Tax Credits to Universal Credit - required to look for work?
I forgot to mention that I have been on DLA/PIP with both enhanced rates for almost 20 years and noticed on the Gov website that if she is giving me care for 35+ hours she won’t be required to increase her working hours but can’t find definitive details on that. -
RE: Moving from Child Tax Credits to Universal Credit - required to look for work?
Hi I’m a disabled state pensioner and my wife works 18 hours a week and earns £228 a week in a care home. The rest of the time she is my caregiver day and night. My 14 year old son also helps me with care when he can. My wife isn’t paid as a carer as she is over the earnings limit and there is no formal proof that she is. We get £1.07 a week Working Tax Credits and also Child tax credits of £79 per week. We will soon be put onto Universal credit and I understand that she may be required to look for working hours to 35 hours to increase her income. If she does this she won’t be able to care for me. Will she be required to work 35+ hours on Universal Credit as I understand she will have to earn as much as possible to be eligible for UC to replace WTC and Child tax credits. We’re worried we won’t be eligible if she cares for me as she does now. Any help would be appreciated
