  • RE: SIPP tax relief recipient

Thanks @maxb, that helps clear that up for me.
  • SIPP tax relief recipient

This may be obvious to some but I'm somewhat confused about where higher rate tax relief on payments to a SIPP would be paid to and how it should be handled. If the SIPP provider receives the amount directly then all seems correct, but if the individual is the recipient via cheque, and this relief amount was then paid into the SIPP, would the provider not attempt to then claim basic rate relief on that amount? Thanks!
  • RE: reasonable amount of time to wait...

Thanks, but it was that page that prompted my original question. It's been well past the reasonable amount of time to expect a response. Is it worth attempting to chase the original application or shall I resubmit?
  • reasonable amount of time to wait...

I registered for self assessment using the online registration method so as to claim some relief on money paid into a SIPP. This was back at the beginning of June so I think sufficient time has passed, yet I have not heard back nor are there any submitted forms or messages showing in my online HMRC account. What's the best course of action here? Re-submit or go through the lengthy process of trying to speak to someone - it does seem to be very difficult to get through at the moment. Thanks.
