Hello, I am a British teacher living in Germany. I pay Type 2 NI contributions which totals around 160/180 gbp per year. I have not worked in the UK since 2018. I would like to work in the UK on a temporary basis (no longer than about two weeks) as a supply teacher. This means that I would have a UK income to a UK bank account. If I do this, would I lose my Type 2 NI status and need to reapply for this? My understanding is that I would NOT lose the type 2 status but that any NI contributions would be paid towards my existing type 2 contributions, is this correct?
