  • Payslip allocated to wrong tax year

I received an out of court settlement from my previous employer. Part of the payment was taxable, as it was holiday pay and notice pay that they failed to pay to me. The payment was made in April, so is part of the 24/25 tax year. However, this should have been paid to be in May 23 if my employer had paid me correctly. It should have fallen into the 23/24 tax year. Can this be changed, as I am now going to pay more tax this year and I never reached the tax free allowance last year.
