  • Clarification on Company Strike-Off and Trading Status

Hi, On October 3, 2024, I informed HMRC through the online service that my company has never traded. Yesterday, I called the helpline and confirmed that my company is recorded as dormant and that my notification has reached the HMRC. However, on December 9, 2024, I applied to strike off the company. I'm now wondering if I should use the online service again to reaffirm that the company has never traded, as I’m concerned HMRC might object to the strike-off because my earlier notification in October is a few months old. Could you please advise if this is necessary or if there’s no need to take further action? Thank you.
  • RE: Inform HMRC to strike off the company

Hello, I want to strike off an active company that is not dormant. But has no trading history, it has never traded since incorporation. And is not registered for corporation tax. I have read that since the company has never traded then it doesn’t have to file the final accounts or the tax return with the HMRC. I just want to confirm if that is true?
