Hello, I have a small amount of interest income, and I have contacted HMRC multiple times to inquire about applying for a UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) number in order to do the self assessment. However, I was informed by your representatives that due to the small amount of interest, it is not necessary to file a tax return, and therefore, a UTR number is not required. Could you please confirm if this information is correct? Thank you in advance
