  • RE: Certificate of tax residence

I would really appreciate if someone could look into this. I really don't want to contact HMRC via the complaints form, because I often receive a letter of confirmation instead of certificate of residence.
  • Tax amount due split into two parts

I have just completed my self assessment and I can 'view my calculation'. I am surprised that the total amount shown is not shown as 'Total amount due for 2023-24', but it says: 'Total amount due for 2023-24' Plus 'First payment on account for 2024-25' and the sum of these two values is described as: 'Total to be added to Self Assessment account due by 31 January 2025' Can you please explain why the summary is presented this way? What is 'First payment on account for 2024-25'?
  • RE: Property Income Distributions (PIDs) from REITs

I have exactly the same question, so I would appreciate guidance from HMRC. I am also filling in my self-assessment online and the fields on it are not numbered.
  • RE: Response to complaints

I submitted my first complaint on 14 September 2024. According to the tool on your website I should have received a reply by 9 November 2024, but I still have not received anything. When I try to call HMRC, I have to wait > 50 minutes to be connected with an advisor.
  • Response to complaints

I requested a certificate of residence from HRMC. I specified the period of time which it should include. I received a standard certificate of residence which includs only the date when it was issued. I submitted two complaints to HMRC (LYV-7XOL-G83, CMR-DW78-KI5) and I did not receive answers to any of these complaints. Can you please explain why?
  • RE: Certificate of tax residence

Would anyone be able to answer my question?
  • Certificate of tax residence

I pay taxes in the UK, but have savings in banks in Poland and earn interest on them. Polish tax authorities require from me a certificate of tax residence and accept it for 1 year since it was issued. I applied for a certificate of tax residence on the HMRC website several times, sometimes successfully, sometimes not (I received letters of confirmation instead). Can you please provide me with a step-by-step instruction on how to fill in the form so I can receive a certificate of tax residence The form that I need to fill in when applying for the certificate is not suitable in my situation. I should not need to specify any income that would be covered by the certificate. I simply need a generic certificate of tax residency in both English/Polish languages. I do not understand why HMRC sends a letter of confirmation when I apply for a certificate of tax residence.
