RE: Stating dividends/interest - as a non-UK tax resident
Many thanks for your replies, really helpful. Lastly, we do not need to state interest earned from ISA accounts on SA returns, as they are tax free in the UK...is this correct? Thanks in advance for your guidance. -
RE: Stating dividends/interest - as a non-UK tax resident
Thank you. But it will not be taxable, as I am not a UK resident? Am I correct in my understanding? -
Stating dividends/interest - as a non-UK tax resident
Hello, I am preparing to do my first ever self-assessment tax return. Situation: 1x property - as a nonresident landlord. Query: As I am not currently a UK tax resident, do I still need to state dividends and interests from UK banks on the form? As per page 3 on Form SA100. I know I need to declare interest earned in my current country of residence and pay tax to this country. But not to the UK - thus is this information required? I know that I am obliged to pay UK property tax to the UK. Thank you. -
Awaiting invoice for previous tax year
Hi, I am preparing to do my first-ever self-assessment tax return. Situation: 1x property - as a nonresident landlord. Query: I only receive the “Actual Service Charge” invoice from my property managing company at the end of September 2025 for the “previous” tax year 2024/2025. I would like to include these expenses on the form. So is it best to wait until I receive the service charge letter end of September and then submit (via post) by October 31 to HMRC? (I believe due to my situation, I cannot submit online - hence the October deadline) Thanks in advance for your help. -
SA assessment online vs paper submission
Hello HMRC, I am preparing to do my first-ever self-assessment tax return. Situation: 1x property - as a nonresident landlord. Can I confirm: 1) I need to fill out SA100, SA105 and SA109. 2) That I (unfortunately) have no option to fill this online because of the SA109 supplement is not offered online. Is that correct? (Online would be a much easier/faster and convenient method) I look forward to your responses. Thank you in advance. -
RE: CF83 Section 02 - question
Another question please: on the CF83 form it asks - "Were you receiving Child Benefit before you left the UK? This is immediately before you left the UK for the period abroad. Only select yes if you were the person that received the payments. YES OR NO" We did not receive payments, as we were High Income threshold - HOWEVER, we did still receive the useful credits towards NI - do we still answer NO? Thank you. -
RE: CF83 Section 02 - question
Great, noted. Thank you. -
CF83 Section 02 - question
Hello, I am currently living abroad and filling out my CF83 form. I understand I can use the CF83 form to: 1) pay for previous gaps in my NI, as well as 2) pay 'ongoing' voluntary contributions to secure my future pension. Section 02 on the form that asks about 'Period Gaps'. It only asks about being abroad during those gaps in my NI. But actually, I was UK-based for those particular periods - however, I would like to fill those periods as well as pay 'ongoing' voluntary contributions. Could you advise please? Thank you in advance.
