Hello, I am currently living abroad and filling out my CF83 form. I understand I can use the CF83 form to: 1) pay for previous gaps in my NI, as well as 2) pay 'ongoing' voluntary contributions to secure my future pension. Section 02 on the form that asks about 'Period Gaps'. It only asks about being abroad during those gaps in my NI. But actually, I was UK-based for those particular periods - however, I would like to fill those periods as well as pay 'ongoing' voluntary contributions. Could you advise please? Thank you in advance.

Hi,
When our International Teams receive your CF83 application form, they will detail any shortfalls of voluntary contributions to you that may be recorded on your National Insurance account.
Thank you.

Another question please: on the CF83 form it asks - "Were you receiving Child Benefit before you left the UK? This is immediately before you left the UK for the period abroad. Only select yes if you were the person that received the payments. YES OR NO" We did not receive payments, as we were High Income threshold - HOWEVER, we did still receive the useful credits towards NI - do we still answer NO? Thank you.

Hi,
If you were in receipt of child benefit credits, but did not receive the payments, you would still select yes.
We need to make sure the credits recorded on your account do not overlap with any abroad dates.
Thank you.
