  • RE: Cash gift from parents outside UK

Hi, I am from Ukraine, and my parents plan to gift me money as a deposit to buy property in the UK. I will be bringing 10k in cash from my visits (I think in total, there would be around 70k cash over the year). As there are limitations on bank transactions from Ukraine, I am unable to transfer money via any bank. As there is no tax for cash gifts, what would be sufficient as proof of where the funds come from? Could it be a notary-verified letter stating that the money is a gift? Would that be enough? I would appreciate your advice. Many thanks.
