I will retire at the end of this tax year April 2025, Is it best to let the HMRC know on the 5th of April or on the 6th of April? Also, will my government gateway stay open? So I can send in my tax return for my final year.thank you Kara

I am self-employed, after filling in my tax form in May 2023, can my national insurance record be updated earlier than January 31 2024, as I am claiming the state pension in October 2023 so that your State Pension records have the correct years and the income will be accurate. If so who do I phone?
