Tax relief on SIPP vs workplace pension contributions
I have a workplace pension, which operates with a salary sacrifice scheme. However, I can make one-off payments to the workplace pension from my already taxed income. Do such payments (into a workplace pension from taxed income) also trigger the same tax relief as payments I can make into a SIPP? -
Can I get tax relief on workplace pension contributions?
I am reading a lot about the possibilities to get tax relief on contributions made into SIPPs. Does this tax relief also apply to workplace pension schemes? I am not very familiar with the nuances here - i.e., if I have to open my own SIPP to get tax relief, or if I can get the same by making additional one-off payments into my existing e.g., Aviva workplace pension. Any help would be appreciated!
