Re: Importing Titanium Dioxide from China. After some initial investigation, EU issued a report stating further analysis of anti-dumping of Chinese Titanium Dioxide into Europe was required. However this report also mentioned that if after further investigation, anti-dumping duties are put in place, then this would be retrospectively done from 1st June. I suppose this is to ensure that large volumes are not now imported before the final decision is made. Do the UK automatically follow the same as the EU or will the UK do their own analysis based on a different find line?

The UK has its own Trade Remedies Authority so no they do not automatically apply the same as the EU. You will find the UK approach to Anti Dumping and investigation in the link below. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-uk-trade-remedies-investigations-process

Hi,
Anti-dumping duty is an import duty charged in addition to normal Customs Duty and applies across the UK and the whole EU.
It allows the UK and EU to take action against goods sold at less than their normal value, defined as the price for ‘like goods’ sold in the exporter’s home market.
HMRC is responsible for collecting anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard duties.
For help importing goods subject to these duties, email: dutyliability.policy@hmrc.gov.uk
Thank you.
