Hi I paid off the mortgage from a current rental property and the mortgage company would only accept payment by telegraphic transfer. I've paid a fee to have this set up. Is it tax deductible? Many thanks

Hi,
Generally speaking you can deduct business expenses as long as they are incurred wholly and exclusively for business purposes and are not of a capital nature
PIM2010 - Deductions: general rules: applying the wholly & exclusively rule refers.
The main types of expenses that you can claim can be found in PIM2068 - Deductions: main types of expense.
If the fee is not a business exepnses then we cannot allow a deduction for this.
Thank you.
