I am trying to get a rough idea of how much national insurance I will be due for when I do my tax return next year. I receive income (profit) from self employment. I understand that the threshold for NI contributions is £12,570 profit. I also receive income from a pension. Can you tell me if pension income is included towards the threshold for NI contributions, or it is solely income/profit from my self employment that counts? Thank you.

Hi John,
I can confirm that the Class 2 and Class 4 National Insurance will be calculated on your Tax return based only on the Self Employed profits.
Thank you
