I submitted the Form CF83 back in September 2023 to pay voluntary class 2 NICs from abroad. At that time the estimated timeline for HMRC to revert on my application was 48 weeks. In early January 2024 I received a Voluntary Class 2 Eligibility Letter - requesting for my employment history abroad. I have responded with relevant information by registered mail and got confirmation that my registered mail was received by the HMRC at the end of January. Will the clock be reset on my application such that it will be another 48 weeks from end January 2024 that I get an outcome on my application?

Hi Dav Chng,
Sorry for the delay in dealing with your request to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions.
I can confirm that you will not be penalised for our delays in replying to you and that you will be given extra time to pay any voluntary contributions if it is required.
Thank you.
